Cinematic Photography
This collection draws inspiration from Hollywood movie colors specifically set at night
201 - Stuck in the taxi jam
Portugal, Lisbon
A cab column with red sidelights and neon signs of the square cinematically create this color of purple plum jam
202 - Arco de La Perduda
Portugal, Lisbon, Alfama
The Alfama quarter of Lisbon is a real maze, at dusk, it is so charming to get lost.
The cat waits in front of the door of the house, sooner or later someone will open and a glimmer of light will hit the old staircase.
203 - Ghosts Upon the Road - The Burrito Llantera
Mexico, Baja California, Guerrero Negro
A restaurant from a tire dealer probably abandoned. Along the Highway 1
204 - Calton Hill trees
UK, Scotland, Edinburgh, Calton Hill
Trees are a source of well-being and shade with their leaves, when the season comes they remain bare skeletons, silent witnesses of human behaviors.
They are observer and one winter or another a verdict will come.
So even the monuments of Calton Hill take a backseat to the trees. This is the meaning I wanted to give to this photograph.
The Hill offers a fantastic panoramic view of the whole center of Edinburgh and some important monuments are recognized.
The National Monument, designed as a replica of the Parthenon in Athens, commemorates the Scottish people during the war against Napoleon but was never completed, becoming even more significant.
The tower is the Nelson Monument to commemorate the death of Admiral Lord Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.
On the right is visible the Astronomy Observatory and for this reason, someone calls this place Observatory Hill.
205 - Chevrolet Biscayne
Cuba, Havana
1959 Chevy Biscayne Street Cruiser in Havana
206 - Standin' on the Corner in Winslow, AZ
USA, Arizona, Winslow
Award-winning black-and-white photography.
Standin' on the Corner in Winslow, Arizona, the famous place commemorating the song "Take It Easy" written by Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey (the most famously recorded by the Eagles).
The song includes the verse "Well, I'm a-standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona, and such a fine sight to see."
207 - Cowgate
UK, Scotland, Edinburgh
A rare example of depth and richness of detail in Night Photography.
The name Cowgate is derived from medieval times. It was where the cattle headed down the street on the market for the slaughterhouse.
Nowadays in the old town, a lot of pubs and breweries are open here.
208 - The Motor Hotel
USA, Arizona, Williams
The Motor Hotel on Urban Route 66, Williams, Arizona. it is a good example of what the highway "looked like" during its heyday!
209 - The Halfway House
UK, Scotland, Edinburgh
Halfway House, a tiny pub on the stairs of Fleshmarket close, in Edinburgh center
